The mannequins are a bit freaky. An even more over-the-top staging stunt I’ve heard of is hiring real people to pretend to live in the house during showings.

It is a fascinating read, however, we can’t forget that the author is distorting the data a little bit. Not to say that those properties are not for real, but they are in areas where you probably don’t want to live. I would like to see a truer comparison. If you are going to compare New York to another city in Mexico, then how about Mexico City? I think that would give us a better idea about how the markets really differ. Also beyond that you also have to take into account the neighborhood factors and so on. An apartment in Manhattan is not comparable to a place near the dump in Mexico City. If you are looking at the best area in New York, look at the best area in Mexico City.

Again I enjoyed reading the article, it was very entertaining, but I’d love to see a more real life comparison.

Just recently went through this sort of thing and it was awful! I think I really was depressed…it was in a great family neighborhood where many of our friends live. We did not act fast enough on the house! Hopefully there is something BIGGER and BETTER waiting for us!

Great story! I have had many clients that have gone through that. It usually happens early in the buying process and they just aren’t really ready - maybe not emotionally ready to jump, or haven’t been fully financially qualified, or thinking that they will have time to sell their old home when they find “The Right One.”

Unfortunately, it’s a fact of life that we have to deal with!

I met all their “visable” requirements, even when I had the feeling they were taking me for a ride. I continued fulfilling my end of the deal. At one point they said they had emailed me, but I never got it. I gave them another address to email and still didnt get that. I emailed them and they said they didnt get. BULL!! They want to use that to say I didnt have a valid email for prospects to contact me. After 8 months of paying over $2000 to them and not one response, I wanted my 100% money back guarantee. Now there is no communication with them. Well, I dont give up that easy. Im not done yet, but they will soon be, if not already.
