“Hi, it’s Glenn Beck. You probably know how I feel about real estate. I have too many family and friends who have lost their savings, college fund, retirement money, even their own home. But here’s the thing. It doesn’t have to end that way, because not all Realtors are created equal. There are some who put a sign in some yard, put your home on some endless list and then cross their fingers.
But then there are others that go another way. I’m talking about real estate agents like Michael Hellickson.”
You can hear the entire transcript of the Glenn Beck ad on the Hellickson website.
What kind of a company is Hellickson?
I would love to tell you, but I’ve been censored by the Northwest Multiple Listing Service. I noted the rule-breaking and fines that this company has received over the last few years and received a request that I remove this information from my website.

Tent card? Isn’t that how we met? Didn’t I have the tent cards? Oh those were the days.
I would like to know more about his business model. He did get that property sold on Capitol Hill that a couple of other agents had tried. What’s his deal and does he really buy those properties? Is he a short sale negotiator?
Though I highly doubt he’s the #1 agent or team in Washington, Idaho or Oregon (separately or combined) he very well may have spent $500K on that stupid commercial. Glenn Beck made $23M last year, and he didn’t do that making free commercials for real estate agents. http://www.forbes.com/lists/2009/53/celebrity-09_Glenn-Beck_QJVA.html
Hi Marlow,
Good follow-up post to your previous post. Strong ethical standards is the highest form of professionalism, not an education. A solid education helps one develop critical and creative thinking skills which are important in a variety of professions, including real estate.
However, none of it means anything if ethical standards are not there, and ethics cannot be taught.
Glenn Beck is not currently endorsing Michael Hellickson and discontinued endorsing before this information was public.
Hi Matt,
The ads are still running on the radio here in Seattle, either KVI or KTTH. I just heard one last week.
In have done deals with Michael and almost Sued him and Took him to State Licening Board. He has 250 listings now most are bank owned. He’s a Shady Dude! Not to be Trusted!
I disagree with Warren and the author. The foreclosure of commercial real estate does not cause a loss in jobs. Its the drop in retail sales which cause the loss. Consumers will simply go to the mall or storefront that is still open. The government must stay out of it and let real estate properties be closed. When retail sales increase, and demand supports more supply, that supply will be housed in more real estate and the closed facilities will be opened.
The US government and the fools running it cannot changes the laws of nature, the laws of math and the laws of economics, like supply and demand. Intervention by govt simply distorts.
When the US Supreme (idiot) Court overturned campaign finance laws which will allow corporations and foreign governments to essentially buy US elections, I decided it’s time for me to give up on voting, except at my local level. I’m done. What’s the point now?
I agree with that note. Not all the realtors are the same. There are numerous lives that real estates have made prosperous. Thanks for nice information here and nice sharing of great links here.
I’m sure Glenn Beck wasnt advertising this guy for free
I wonder how many homes that agent listed doing that?
I wonder if he paid the $2500 could he keep using the same cards?
I completely agree one hundred%. I can not consider that he would even go together with that. Individuals these days are simply unbelievable, never ceases to amaze me what individuals do and say anymore. Great blog.
If you trust Glen at all then you can trust the people at Best Mortgage. Hmmm….
I do not like Glenn Beck. And it does not surprise me that he promotes a company with such lack of integrity and moral depravity. Sure, we all make mistakes, but when Glenn Beck promotes you, your business has to be one step from demonic.
