The foreclosure man, Richard Nakamura, is on a tight schedule these days. Business is booming, even in the relatively prosperous Greater Seattle area.
It’s never-ending, the list of homes, condos and even entire apartment complexes that Nakamura visits in his Toyota pickup. He’s got a Wi-Fi-ready laptop on the passenger seat, a printer on the back seat, a GPS device to guide him.
Foreclosure man: I’m the bearer of bad news by Erik Lacitis

Hello,
I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed reading this post. Clearly you have a very real and clear understanding of the foreclosure crisis going on in the country and a knowledge of the mindset of all parties involved. I especially appreciate your view that “foreclosure is about denial”. I have always felt that if home owners are willing to stay out of denial they would most likely stay out of foreclosure. Or at least then they will be able to maintain more control throughout the experience and bring about a faster, more powerful resolution eventually.
Sincerely,
The Foreclosure Doctor
Peter, what do you mean by “”faster, more powerful resolution?” Any homeowner being foreclosed on should stay in the house, rent free, until Richard Nakamura tells them it’s time to leave. That’s about all the “power” any distressed homeowner has. At least if they stay in their homes as long as possible, “rent” free, they can recoup some of their loss in the form of house payment relief.
By “Foreclosure Doctor,” do you mean you’ll buy their house for a fraction of what it’s worth? That’s some “doctoring,” I’d say.
He’s just calling himself Doctor because it makes him feel good about himself. Anything this guy can do to inflate his ego, he’ll do it. He’s not an expert on anything, but he likes people to think he’s an expert on everything. He wants people to think he’s rich, but he’s not. He tells people about how his life has been transformed, but his life has been transformed literally dozens of times. He’s a con man, but the biggest person to be fooled by his cons is himself, because he really believes himself to be awesome stuff when he’s not.
