The rules in place to obtain and keep licenses such as real estate agent, mortgage broker, etc. need to be made stronger. There needs to be an adherance to ethical standards as well.
This person (the filthy mouthed individual) is not acting in a professional manner.

I think Mr. Wider should be put in jail have his home taken from his family and made to give all the cash he has to people he got loans for. It is people like this that give the Real Estate Industry a bad name. Convict him of fraud and through the keys away.

It is lenders/brokers like this that helped get us into the real estate market that we are in today. There needs to be more stringent laws enforcing lending practice. The problem I see is that this extra layer of protection will come at a cost that will probibly be passed onto the home owner.

[...] What the Finance wrote an interesting post today onHere’s a quick excerpt By all appearances, Aaron Wider is the chief executive of a flourishing mortgage bank in Garden City, issuing more than $33 million in home loans to buyers across Nassau and Suffolk counties over the past four years. A closer look at his lending practices, however, reveals that many of these loans relied on faulty appraisals and exaggerated loan applications, leaving behind angry homeowners who are struggling to pay mortgages on overpriced homes.
