I never understood why agents would give money to HV. They charge a huge fee and then tell you to be successful that you need to advertise the HV brand and website. So in turn they can charge you more as the number of leads increased...does that really make sense to any intelligent agents?

Hey Marlow.

Well, it’s no surprise to most agents around Seattle that HouseValues had these issues. Locally it seemed like a lot of the agents who did well with them did not focus on neighborhoods close-in Seattle. It seemed to work much better for those suburban agents whose sellers commuted a lot and didn’t really know any Realtors or much about their home area.

Your right about the online options available now too. Nowadays most sellers know what Zillow values their home at and can easily access the data they were trying to use as a hook. IMHO Top Producers Market Snapshot is way better tool than most out there.

It’s also irritating to pay a company for web-generated leads that are just siphoned away from your own website.
